Non Destructive Ultrasonic Testing Almost any solid material can be tested Steel, Aluminum, Fiberglass Ultra sonic testing or audio gauging for determination of actual material thickness, such as on a boats bottom or hull, to determine a percent value of steel or aluminum wastage from the natural elements of hull aging and delamination of fiberglass. The ultra sonic meter, coupled with its probe and a conductive agent, gives the technician a “readout” of actual material thickness to within three decimal points of inches or millimeters.
