Cylinder Compression testing: We will perform compression tests on gas engines for an extra charge. Compression testing is a valuable diagnostic tool, particularly on engines 5 years or older. We recommend that ALL RAW WATER Cooled engines be compression tested. Our ability to perform compression tests depends on a variety of factors, such as the ability to reach and get the spark plugs out. We have to deal with gasoline it's vapors and the dangers of explosions. On some vessels we will be unable to advise you whether we can perform a compression test until we have actually seen the vessel. Compression testing of outboard motors is not a problem.
Fee: Outboard $75.00 per engine Inboard 4 Cylinder $ 100.00 per engine 6 Cylinder $ 125.00 per engine 8 Cylinder $ 150.00 per engine Diesel engines click here ( Difficult engine installations or outboard boats not hauled will increase this fee )
